Exoto 1:18
Berichtte ik laatst nog dat Exoto met de Porsche 936 uitkomt, krijg ik alweer een nieuwe droom toegeworpen van Exoto!!!
De eerste beelden van de Nissan R89C, die enige tijd geleden al werd aangekondigd, zijn nu vrijgegeven. En ik moet zeggen, Holy Moly wat een model!!!

Let bij de eerste drie detailfoto's vooral even op de middelste, dat is namelijk een WERKENDE jack-stand zoals die in de racerij gebruikt worden! Deze komt dus onder uit de auto wanneer men (in het echt) de perslucht zou aansluiten. Tegenwoordig is dat o.a. te zien bij de DTM geloof ik.

Exoto is proud to reveal the first photos of our exciting new Racing Legends Nissan R89C! This startling Group C racer from Japan was developed in conjunction with Lola, featuring a Kevlar and carbon-fibre based monocoque chassis. Powering the car was Nissan's new twin-turbo VRH35Z 3.5L V8 DOHC engine. Incorporated as a stressed element for better chassis rigidity, it was a significant improvement over the 3.0L VRH30 motor and produced up to 950bhp on full boost!
Features of the Exoto Racing Legends Nissan R89 is grand 1:18 scale include:
• Opening double-hinged doors
• Removable and lockable front section
• Removable rear section
• Removable and lockable rear wheel covers
• Functional shock/spring suspension system (front and rear)
• Functional steering
• Removable wheels featuring machined center nuts and semi-pneumatic tires
• Functional and lockable pit service fast hydraulic jacks!
• Photo-etch metal radiators, nickel plated
• Photo-etch metal disc brakes and brake assembly
• Hexagon head machined bolts over engine valve covers
• Genuine rivet pins (total 17 on production models) by exhaust outlets
• Multiple metal parts in engine bay
• Fully wired and plumbed engine, electrical, and mechanicals
• Realistic finishes throughout
The R89C represents a change in Nissan's approach to international racing and was the starting point for what would become a highly successful and unforgettable program! Nissan was out to prove that Japanese engineering, innovation, and determination was a match for the years of experience the best European teams could boast. It was going to take an enormous effort, but with the R89C, Nissan was on the right path!
Op dit moment staan er twee versies in pre-order: de blauwe proto die hier getoond word, en de versie waarmee Arie Luyendijk op Le Mans red in 1989.
