Da's beroerd, zowel PM als Starter hebben een paar mooie Audi's gemaakt. Inderdaad, prijs/kwaliteit van Starter is prima.

Nu maar hopen dat ze weer verder gaan met het maken van interessante modellen [en ook oudere blijven produceren !]
Starter was [of zullen we maar *is* zeggen om ze geen ongeluk toe te wensen met de doorstart
] altijd aardige prijs-kwaliteit verhouding.

We said in the last issue that things were moving ahead over in France with a number of key ex-Provence Moulage employees and their new company. We are now pleased to welcome to the market Provence Miniatures Automobiles.
The dedicated and talented gang of 5 are lead by Patrick Buvat, ex-technical manager of PM. Patrick will take responsibility for the choice of new subjects and will supervise their creation, from researching the originals, to final quality control of the complete kits and hand finished models.
Patrick?s right-hand man, Michel Croqueferre has a wealth of experience in the 1:43rd field and was one of the key team members at AMR in days gone by (see the AMR Story in the last issue and on page 22).
More observant modellers will have noticed the name of Michel Fraiz on the bottom of many of the more recent PM kits. He is the man responsible for the recent PM GT40 super-kit and he will continue to produce the masters.
Catherine Gobin will continue in her role in charge of administration and liason with dealers (sorry Catherine, that means you have to put up with us again!).
Bernard Orengo will concentrate on creating the artwork for decals, photo-etch and the instructions.
As with all good, close knit teams they will all help each other where necessary.
The majority of production will be the standard PM-style kerbside kits that we all know and love. Some subjects will also be offered with opening panels and the new team also intend to make more regular full superkit releases. The kerbside models will also all be available as hand built models.
The first new releases should arrive within the next month or so and we will hopefully have the first reviews in the next issue of FSW. The first releases will include one of the most important models of the year, the 2004 Le Mans winner! Also due before the end of the year are;
2x DTM Audi A4s (red Bull & Hasselroder),
2x DTM Opel Vectras (OPC & Valvoline),
PGO 180 Cévennes - Paris 2004, Aston Martin Jet 2 Bertone,
Corvette C5R No.63/64 Le Mans 2004 TVR Tuscan 400R No.89/96 LM 04, Porsche 996 GT3RS No.90 1st LMGT Le Mans 2004,
Porsche 996 GT3RS No.81 Racer?s Group Le Mans 2004,
Aston Martin Vanquish Roadster Zagato,
Peugeot 907 salon de Paris 2004, Alfa Roméo 8C Competizione 2004, Maserati MC12 Street 2004.
There will be plenty more Le Mans subjects to follow, though being rather smaller than the old PM company, the new concern aim to typically release around 6 models per month.
Negotiations are also still ongoing with the receivers and it looks like PMA will be obtaining stocks of the more recent PM releases.

Denk de markt niet meer op dure handmodellen zit te wachten, zeker nu Spark gave Le Mans modellen maakt die ook Provence op de markt zette.

Dit is niet te hopen.
Heb van meerdere merken al resin kitjes gebouwd, maar Provence Moulage steekt er echt met kop en schouders bovenuit.
Dan bedoel ik vooral het gietwerk. Veel resin kitjes hebben grove gietranden, en vooral veel pinholes (luchtblaasjes in het bodywork die allemaal dichtgeplamuurd moeten worden). Bij PM is dit nauwelijks het geval.
Nee,....ik ben een fan van dit merk. Alleen de prijs. Die is i.d.d. nogal aan de pittige kant. Maar iedere bezitter van een PM model zal beamen dat deze modellen toch tot de top behoren.
Over de eerdere gemaakte opmerkingen dat Starter de gebouwde versie van PM is heb ik toch mijn twijfels.
Ik heb zowel Starter als PM modellen in mijn collectie, en PM is toch stukken beter, moet ik zeggen. Daarbij is het mij opgevallen dat (gebouwde) Provence Moulage Modellen veelal op voetjes staan die je ook bij b.v. BBR tegenkomt. (Vlakke voetjes met zilverkleurig embleem met gegevens over auto). Terwijl de Starter modellen meestal in een soort "Progetto" doosjes zitten......als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel.
Maar moet zeggen dat ik dit toch niet helemaal zeker weet.
In ieder geval een faillisement van PM zou een verlies voor de modelautowereld zijn.

Voor zover ik weet waren Starter en Provence Moulage (later Provence Miniatures) inderdaad twee verschillende merken, die los van elkaar beconcurreren niet zo gek veel gemeenschappelijke belangen hadden.
