I like the Red Line Hawaiian Tropic Ferrari 550 a lot.
I can still remember the day you sniped it 3 seconds before closingtime on ebay
But I forgive you because your photograps are in a class of its own. You make 1/43 Onyx' look like 1/18 Exoto's

Unfortunately, they are quite expensive. I started out my diecast collection with Maisto 1:18 models from their GT Series. Over time, I opened up my wallet to Autoart and UT, which are a bit more expensive. Because I have have been having difficulty finding nice modern endurance race cars in 1:18, I have chosen to expand into the 1:43 scale. I do not see myself buying as many cars each year so I allow myself to spend a little bit more money per car. Now, all I can hope for is that Red Line does not release MANY nice 1:43 that I want in 2006.

Or else, I am in BIG trouble!

I guess I got lucky that time!

It does not always turn out that way. Thank you Mike for your kind compliments about the photos. I still need to improve my photos where I use a white background.

Felix,
Wow, what a beautiful collection you have there.
If you ever consider about selling an autographed Viper....
Then send me a PM.....
Unfortunatly the firewall at work prevents me from looking at your own website.....
But I will, when I get home!
When I get some new models, I'll try to get these great photographs with the technique your using

Thank you Arry for visiting my website, signing my guestbook and giving such kind feedback. I will remmber you if I do come to a stage in my life where I do sell off my diecasts. But at this point in time, I do not quite see that happening any time soon.

I guess I still love my cars a lot.
I've been very lucky to find Olivier Beretta, Tommy Archer and Jean Philippe Belloc to get their autographs under the hood of a few cars. Since Olivier drives for Corvette Racing, I have been lucky to find him one time to sign one of the Team Oreca hoods (the 2000 Le Mans GTS class winner). I hope to get his autograph for the Petit Le Mans car and the 24H Rolex car also this year.
For the benefit of the other member who may not have seen my Vipers, let me start off with the cars that have been autographed.
Tommy had written #22 because the year he signed it, he was competing in the Speed World Challenge series in a Viper Competition Coupe with the #22 on it.
Signed by Olivier Beretta
Signed by Jean Philippe Belloc
And here are my other Viper GTS-Rs

Felix,
Your welcome!
I never thought about taking parts from my cars to races....
The last time I visited a race was actually also the first time I ever went there.... (it was the Zolder Superprix last year). When I intend to visit a race I will definitly follow your example and try to get a autograph on a part.
Archer and Beretta drove the number 53 car in 1998 together also didn't they.
What was your thought with autographing the inside of the hood?
If they would autograph the outside of the car... it simply wouldn't look good?
I just thought about that... but can't figure out why..... the wing is also a good spot to place it...
But not quite practical to take to the race.....
Anyway.... your collection is great!

When I view outside my window, here at the office.... on the horizon I can see the skyline of Nijmegen. Sometimes the uppersides of the Waalbridge are viewable here.

I forgot to say earlier, I might have to take up your offer for the Droste and Hopjes.

The nice thing about the Aa Viper hoods is that you can wrap them up in a few t-shirts and pack them in a backpack to bring to a race. I was able to find Olivier during the autographing session which is mandatory for all American Le Mans Series drivers to attend. The drivers are really very friendly which is great for the sport.
In the '98 Le Mans, the #51 was driven by Beretta, Archer and Lamy. The #53 which won the GTS class that year was driven by J. Bell, L. Drudi and D. Donohue.
The first time I got models autographed, it was with 3 Corvette C5-Rs by the Canadian driver Ron Fellows. I really did not know if I wanted them signed inside the hood or outside. So I had two cars signed outside and the more rare car, I got signed inside. Afterwards, I thought I might like the autograph under the hood so it does not affect the way the car looks outside. What do you prefer Arry?
Off-topic: Too bad I do not remember much of Nijmegen any more. I was only about 3 years old and lived there for 2 short years before I moved back to Canada.
Wouter: I am glad you like Viper GTS-R also!
