great models and a pleisure to look at them
I also was into scale 43 but changed to 1/18 in 2007. I also have some great Ferraris:
512 BBi, Daytona, F40, 328 GTB, 599
I always thought that BBR is a bit behind of Red Line or Look Smart though charging about 50 € more.
Maybe you can cleer this up for me

Depends on the model. I believe the Looksmart 599 looks as good as if not better than the BBR 599, yet the BBR one is easily a 100 euro's more expensive. So I have the Looksmart, not the BBR. Make Up Co makes the best 288 GTO and F40 in 1:43 available today. Much, much better than the BBR version and again not as expensive (allthough a little more expensive than Looksmart). Make Up Co have recently released their 512 BB / 364 GT4 and again, much better than the BBR. Funny thing is that also Looksmart have launched their 512 BB about a month ago and allthough not as good as the Make Up Co version, still easily comparable with the BBR version.Faultier schreef:

So I agree with you that it is certainly not a given fact that BBR produces the best models in the business. I do however believe that BBR is without equal in the vintage series, mostly because Looksmart and Make Up Co seem to limit themselves to the more modern models. Allthough Looksmart does produce some nice vintage Ferrari's.
thanks for your answer.
I believe that Make up make amazing models but for me even these little diamond can´t beat the scale 1/18 Ferraris from Kyosho.
But this is just due to the fact that in 1/43 you are way more limited in they ways you make models.
Nice models to look at but I will stick to 1/18.
Do you have the 430 Scuderia already?

For me, the great attraction of 1/43 is the wide variety of available Ferrari-models. The range of models available in 1/43 far exceeds the range in 1/18. I can get a 212 Inter in 1/43 but certainly not in 1/18, to give you an example. Another big plus for me is storage. I can easily store 200+ models in 1/43, but 1/18 is a different challenge.Faultier schreef:thanks for your answer.![]()

And finally, the built quality in 1/43 in the handbuilt market (not diecast) is more than excellent. Today, 1/18 is improving quite a bit with the likes of Kyosho, AutoArt and even Hotwheels stepping up their game, but to me it is still no match for the finest builders in 1/43.
I do not have the Scuderia yet. I don't even know who offers one. BBR is said to be launching one sometime next year, so I'll probably get one of those.
Thank you for your comments.
