We will make it under AUTOart MOTORSPORT without openings (sealed body shell).
The development lead time for the models being made without openings is shorter than the one with full opening. Most of the models we made without openings are modern racing cars, of which we are quite difficult to get the photos of the engine bay from the racing teams which is usually highly confidential. In order to release the modern race models in the market as early as possible, we have to shorten the development lead time. Making the model without openings is the best way to achieve this goal. Moreover, the racing teams usually allow model car manufacturers taking photos on the engine bay after the cars have been raced for almost a season. If we wait for the engine photos to make it with openings, the model will be launched to the market very late, and collectors are not interested at all.
The investment on the molds is little lower for the model without openings, but we have to invest more on the overall decoration and finish on the exterior of the model. There are a lot of metal parts and photo-etched plates being used on the model which is quite expensive compare with making these parts by plastic. Thus, the overall product cost would not be far lower than the models with full openings.
